To configure your Practice for My Health Record, you would have already have registered for a PRODA
( Provider Digital Access ) Account, - https://proda.humanservices.gov.au
Prerequisites required for to connect your practice to My Health Record:
- A copy of your practice's Health Identifier (HI) certificate and passphrase
- A copy of the Healthcare Organisation (HPI-O) certificate and passphrase
- If you do not have both of these certificates, you will need to apply for new certificates or arrange for a re-issue.
This is completed through your PRODA account, on HPOS (Health Professional online Services).
Follow these steps to configure your practice to use My Health Record:
- Click More to reveal a drop-down list
- Click Settings
- Click Configuration Settings
- Click the Practice Name
- Click Health Identifier
- Click Certificate Pass-Phrase and type in your Health Identifier certificate pass-phrase
- Upload your My Health Record certificate - click Select File to open a file explorer window
- Navigate to the location of the certificate (typically stored on a CD, which was provided by Medicare)
- Click on the name of the certificate (called fac_sign.p12), and click Select or OK
- Click Save to apply the changes
- Once the file has been saved, the Certificate Alias Name and Expiry Date will be automatically be populated to the form
- Click eHealth
- Click Certificate Pass-Phrase and type in your My Health Record pass-phrase
- Upload your My Health Record certificate - click Select File to open a file explorer window
- Navigate to the location of the certificate (typically stored on a CD, which was provided by Medicare)
- Click on the name of the certificate (called pac_sign.p12), and click Select or OK
- Click Upload File
- Click Save to apply the changes
- Once the file has been uploaded, the HPI-O No., Certificate Alias Name and Expiry Date will be automatically be populated to the form
Your practice is now configured to use My Health Record.
*Note: Individual doctors and providers must also have their HPI-I numbers recorded against their user profile in MediRecords before they can connect to My Health Record. If doctors do not have their HPI-I number recorded, then they will not have access to My Health Record.
