Security Tutorial - Part 2: Editing a Security Role
To view or edit the permissions associated with a Security Role, hover your mouse over the name of the role and click View.
In this tutorial, the Employee Doctor Security Role will be edited and configured. Note that the Practice Owner Security Role cannot be altered or edited. There must be at least one user on your MediRecords subscription with the security role of Practice Owner.
The following page is a list of Privileges associated with the selected Security Role.
The Security Privileges are divided into nine separate sections. Each containing a list of Items with predefined security privileges, which are either -
Create - create new records
Read - read / view existing records
Update - update existing records
Delete - delete existing records
All - create, read, update and delete all records
None - no access to these records allowed
Here is a brief overview of each section within Security Privileges -
Relates to Accounts Payable, Expenses, Expense Journal and Assignments.
Relates to Appointments, Consulting Rooms, Sessions (opening hours) and Holidays.
Relating to Accounts Receivable, Payments, Invoices, Bulk Billing Claims and Reports and Adjustments.
Relates to Clinical Data, including Allergies, Immunisations, Demographics, Hospitalisations, Pregnancies and other Medical History.
Relates to Activities, like Clinical Actions and Tasks.
Relates to Patient Records, including creating New Patients, Alcohol / Smoking Status, Family History and Social Habits
Relates to Contacts, Service Providers, Sub-specialities, Drug Recipes, Clinical Templates and Drawings, Patient Education and Letter Templates.
Relates to Bank Accounts, Auditing, Item Schedules, Notice Board Settings and Security Roles
Relates to Practices, Users, MediRecords Modules, Biographies and Qualifications
To update a security privilege, click the Tick-box to add or remove privileges for that item.
There are two important things to note when updating privileges -
- Selecting Create or Update will automatically enable the Read privilege
- Selecting All will automatically enable the Create, Read, Update and Delete privileges
