Instant Chat - Patient Related Chat
In article of the Instant Chat, you will learn how to flag a patient in a chat message, open a patient record from the chat message, and how to review the chat history of messages related to that patient from within the patient record.
Flagging a patient name in chat
To flag a patient name in a chat message, click New to start a new message.
Add the name of the user you are sending the message to, and click Patient Name to flag a patient in the message.
Type in a keyword from the patient name to locate the patient, select the patient name and type in the message.
Click Send to send the message to the user.
When the message is delivered to the user, there will be a Patient sub-heading in message. Click the Patient Name to open the patient record.
The patient record will open, and there will be a counter on the Dashboard tab, indicating that there is a new message for you related to that patient.
To view the message, click Dashboard.
Click Chat to open the messages related to the patient.
The message will be displayed at the top of the list, and you can respond to the user that sent the message from the patient record the same way you respond to messages from the home page.
Patient related chat history
To review the chat history related to a patient, open the patient record and click Dashboard.
Click Chat History to open the messages related to the patient and view the message history.
*Note: You will only be able to see the history of messages addressed to you, not the full history of messages addressed to other users.
