Before you can start using eRx, you need to register your practice and obtain an eRx ID for each provider.

You will also need the appropriate Healthcare Organization (HPI-O) and Health Identifier (HI) PKI certificates that are required for e-prescribing.
1. To apply for an HPI-O certificate, you will need to complete the Healthcare Organization registration form. Applications can be completed either online or by mail. Once you have completed the registration, you will be provided with a HPI-O Number and an Electronic PKI certificate that needs to be uploaded to your practice profile in MediRecords.

2. A Health Identifier (HI) PKI Certificate is required to be uploaded into your practice profile. The practice's Health Identifier Number can be linked to your existing Medicare billing certificate (fac_sign.p12), or can be linked to a NASH (National Authentication Service for Health) certificate.

Once you have the HPI-O and HI certificates and pass-phrases, you can configure your practice Settings to begin using e-Rx.
