Clinical - Cervical Smears
In this article, you will learn how to manage the record of cervical smears for female patients, create new cervical smears and edit and delete existing cervical smears.
The Cervical Smears page in a patient's clinical record displays a summary of the cervical smears recorded for that patient. From within the summary, you can quickly view the date, result, endocervical and HPV results, performing doctor and the clinical comments at time of procedure.
To quickly filter the list of cervical smears, click Filter to display a drop-down list, and select the records you want to see from either Endocervical or HPV. You can select Yes or No from either one, or a combination of both.
To search for a cervical smear, click the Search box and type in a Keyword from the Result you are searching for. Press Enter, and the system will display a list of the closest matches.
To Add results from a Cervical Smear, click New Result to open the cervical smear results form.
Fill in the form and add a Date, who the examination was Performed By, the Result, and any relevant clinical observations or Comments. If you want to make the record confidential, so that only you can see it, click the Confidential tick-box.
Date and Performed By fields will automatically be filled with today's date and the current user.
Optionally, you are able to assign a task based on these results by clicking on More, selecting the User you wish to assign the task to (if you want to create the task for yourself, click your own name).
Fill in the appropriate Date, Result and any other relevant information and click Save.
*NOTE The Add to Today's Notes will be automatically ticked which will add the results to the current consultation's notes. If you do not want this, make sure to un-tick the box.
The system will automatically create a task for the selected User, relating to the results for that cervical smear.
The newly created results will now be visible in the Cervical Smears summary.
To Edit the Results of a cervical smear, click the Tick-box next to the name to reveal a list of options. Click Edit to open the cervical smear results form.
Update the form with all the required details, and click Save to apply the changes.
To Delete the Results of a cervical smear, click the Tick-box next to the name to reveal a list of options. Click Delete to permanently delete the cervical smear results from the patient's record.
Click Yes to acknowledge the results will be deleted.
To Delete Multiple Results of cervical smears, click the Tick-box next to the names to reveal a list of options. Click Delete to permanently delete the cervical smear results from the patient's record
Click Yes to acknowledge the results will be deleted.
