Why are referrer details not being sent with Claim
A specialist who sees patients on a referral basis, a few items need to configured or created for the claim to be submitted and processed successfully. Without these steps, your claims may return error codes like the ones below:
9308: Referring Practitioner's Provider Number must be supplied
9630: Please check the request or referral details
To ensure claim is being submitted correctly, ensure that you have configured and created the below:
1. Invoice configuration:
When sending an invoice via Medicare or ECLIPSE, as a specialist below details need to be configured.
To get to this page follow these instructions:
A) Select the person Icon in the top right corner of your screen
B) Select Preferences
C) Select Invoices
D) Scroll down to Include referral for Medicare Billing and select YES
E) Confirm Medicare provider type as Specialist
F) Select SAVE
2. Completing Referrer Details:
Referrer details are set from your Health Professional Contacts page. To confirm the required information has been set follow the below instructions.
A) Select More from the top of your MediRecords screen
B) Select Resources
C) Select Contacts
D) Select Health Professional Contacts
E) Search for the name of referring provider
F) Select the Providers Name (Create the provider if not already in the system by selecting NEW)
G) Confirm the providers Full Name, Address, Contact number and Provider Number have been saved correctly (Update where necessary)
H) Navigate to the patient you have attempted invoicing for and select Details Tab
I) Select Referral from the far right of the details screen
J) Select tick-box to the left of referral, followed by Edit
K) Re-write the surname of referring provider and select the correct contact from the list of names provided
L) Reprocess invoice
NOTE: Once a referrer has been created once, they will not need to be created a second or third time
