Finishing a Consultation
In this article you will learn how to use and configure the Consultation Timer, Date, Room and Consultation Type, and Finish a Consult located at the top of the patient's clinical record.
The Consultation Timer starts whenever you open a patient's clinical record.
When you start a consultation, the time and date defaults to Today. The Start Time and End Time are recorded as part of the Consultation Notes.
We also have two options for saving notes in this function. The first is the Auto-Save function, which will automatically save any data entered into the form.
We also give the ability to manually save notes by clicking the Save button below:
Note: It is recommended that you utilise both functions to ensure the data entered is saved.
If you perform a consultation off-site or away from your computer, you can back-date the appointment date and time.
To Change the Consultation Date, click the Calendar Icon to reveal a drop-down calendar. Click to select the Appointment Date from calendar.
To Change the Consultation Time, click the Clock Icon to reveal a drop-down list of times. Click to select the Time of the appointment.
To Change the Consultation Type, click Type to reveal a drop-down list. Click to the select the Type of Consultation from the list.
To Change the Consultation Room, click Room to reveal a drop-down list. Click to select the Room from the list.
To Pause a Consultation, click the Pause button.
To Resume a Consultation, click the Resume button.
To End or Finalise a Consultation, click the Finish button.
*NOTE: If you have not created consultation rooms in Practice Settings, then there will be no rooms in the list.
If you finish a consultation and return to the Today's Notes tab, you are able to amend the finalised Consultation. Click Yes to do so or No to start a new consult.
