Creating Favourites for your prescriptions in MediRecords helps save time and ensures consistency when prescribing commonly used medications. By storing details such as dose, frequency, food instructions, and additional notes, you can quickly re-use the same prescription setup without having to re-enter information each time.
This guide will walk you through how to create and manage Favourites within the New Rx or Quick Script form. Once saved, your Favourites can be easily accessed from a drop-down menu, making repeat prescribing faster, more accurate, and more convenient.
Contents:
Creating a Medication Favourite
- Open a new prescription for the patient via the Quick Prescription button on the Quick Access bar, or the New Rx button in the Medications tab
- You will now need to create the prescription the same way you would for a patient. Search for and select the drug that you commonly prescribe. Click Next.
- You will now need to choose how much information you'd like to save in the Favourite by populating those details. For example, if you'd like the Favourite to include the same Dose each time, select the Dose you'd like to use. The following fields can be saved within a Favourite:
- Dose (except where a Custom Dose has been used)
- Frequency
- Food
- Instruction
- After you have entered all of the details for your Favourite, click Add to Favourites.
- You can then close the window if you are not writing a real prescription. Otherwise, continue and finish the prescription as required.
Using a Medication Favourite
When you are ready to use the Favourite, the steps are very simple.
- Open a new prescription for the patient via the Quick Prescription button on the Quick Access bar, or the New Rx button in the Medications tab
- Change the search drop-down menu to select Favourites.
- Your list of Favourites will then be presented. Select a Favourite, tick the Product you want to prescribe, and click Next. The details of your Favourite will then be loaded for you to finalise the prescription.
