Please note that although there is a Cancel Medicare Claim option with MediRecords, this does not delete or cancel the Bulk Bill/DVA claim with Medicare. If you have sent a claim in error, you must call Medicare straight away on 1800 700 199 and request the claim be cancelled. After you have confirmed with Medicare that they were able to cancel your claim, you can follow the below steps to cancel the claim in MediRecords.
Cancelling the claim will move the invoice(s) back to the Unclaimed Amount screen, where they can be sent off again under a new claim number.
1. To cancel the claim, firstly navigate to Accounts at the top of your MediRecords screen, followed by Claiming:
2. Select In Progress:
3. Select the Check-Box to the left of the claim you would like to delete followed by More:
4. Select Cancel Medicare Claim from the drop-down list provided:
*NOTE: If you attempt to cancel a claim outside the allowable time frame, the Cancel Medicare Claim option will not appear:
5. The invoices attached to the claim will return to the Unclaimed Amount claiming stage. From here you can choose to delete the invoice(s), open the invoice(s), or submit the invoice(s) as an entirely new claim by ticking them and clicking Claim.
