Search and Open Patient Records
This article demonstrates how to search for patients within the MediRecords system using the
- Primary Search Field
- Quick Search Field
and the difference between each search field. Additionally, this article will outline the various locations a user can open a patient record from.
Primary Search Field
The primary search field is located within the patients tab and should be used when frequently interacting with patient records, such as routine billing.
To find a patient, click within the search bar and enter any of the following to search
- Patient name (Last, First or First or Last)
- Address (Street or Suburb State Postcode) no commas
- Date of Birth (DD/MM/YYYY)
- Contact number (XXXXXXXXXX) no spaces
- Medicare number (XXXXXXXXXX) no hyphens
Using this search field lowers the likelihood of selecting the incorrect patient, as it provides multiple unique identifiers to help you confirm the patient.
Quick Search Field
The quick search field is found in the header of the MediRecords system and therefore can be accessed at all times. This search field is slightly less dynamic than the primary search bar as you are only able to locate patients by searching their name or date of birth.
To find a patient, click within the search bar and enter any of the following to search
- Patient name (Last, First or First or Last)
- Date of Birth (DD/MM/YYYY)
NOTE: A minimum of three characters must be entered here before the system can search
Open Patient Record
To help make MediRecords as user friendly as possible, users can open patient records from multiple places throughout the system.
