If you are presented with an "E99003" error when attempting to send an e-prescription, it may indicate that there are special characters or symbols in the patient's demographic details, Drug Recipe or in the prescription instructions, which eRx are unable to 'read'.
To resolve this, you will need to remove any special characters or symbols in the patient's demographic details (e.g address), Drug Recipe, or in the prescription's instructions and annotations.
Special characters or symbols can include any characters that you would not normally be able to find on a keyboard. For example:
- This is a normal hyphen '-'
- This is a symbol hyphen copied and pasted from Microsoft Word, into MediRecords '—'
Another example can be seen below. The patient's name contains an apostrophe, however, it's a 'symbol' type apostrophe, that was not typed using the keyboard.
In the next image below, the apostrophe symbol has been replaced with a normal apostrophe that can be typed using the keyboard.
If you cannot find the special character or symbol causing the error, it might be beneficial to re-type the patient's demographic details, Drug Recipe or prescription instructions and annotations, instead of copying and pasting them, as this will ensure all characters come from the keyboard and can be read by eRx.
If you are using a Drug Recipe, please also ensure the dose does not contain any symbols, as this too can cause the E99003 Error to populate.
