We have enhanced the Patient record by incorporating multiple gender attributes.
For some clinics, capturing preferred pronouns is essential for fostering inclusivity and respecting individuals' gender identities. By asking for and using preferred pronouns, we demonstrate a commitment to acknowledging and affirming each person's identity. This helps our customers create a more inclusive and welcoming environment for their patients.
This new field is located near the current “Gender” field found within a patient record.
The selectable options include:
- He/Him
- She/Her
- They/Them
- Different Pronouns (use Notes).
Is this field mandatory: No. The field is optional for you to fill out when you want to.
If the field is populated, this value is shown in two other areas: the patient header and the patient tool tip area. See the screenshots below.

Tool Tip Information
We have enhanced the tooltip information for patients to now include their preferred pronouns, in addition to incorporating other essential details. This enhancement transforms the tooltip into a comprehensive reference source for users when navigating various sections of the patient record.
Using the "Different Pronouns (use Notes)" Option
If the option "Different Pronouns (use Notes)" is chosen, the Notes field is filled with a prompt to record the pronouns the patient prefers. This is a free-text field where the user is guided to input the patient's preferred pronouns, as illustrated below:
Update to "Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Origin" Field
