The Evolve Patient Summary is a powerful tool designed to support healthcare providers by delivering a concise, AI-generated overview of a patient’s recent activity. It compiles key details from recent consultations, communications, and investigations into a single, easy-to-read page.
This streamlined summary enables providers to quickly refresh their memory before a consultation, improving clinical efficiency and continuity of care. Additionally, shortcut links are included to provide immediate access to full patient records for deeper insights when needed.
📌 Important:
- The Evolve Suite is an Add-On product, containing the Evolve Patient Summary & Evolve Direct features. The Evolve Suite will be expanded with new features in future.
- Add-On features are optional paid features that can be added on top of any plan.

Using Patient Summary in the Patient Record
Within the patient record screen, navigate to the Clinical section and click the Evolve Patient Summary button in the toolbar to open the summary.
When selected, the Patient Summary page will load and dynamically populate with data pulled from various sections of the patient’s record.
Using Patient Summary in the Inbox
Within MediRecords, click the Message icon in the top navigation bar to open the Inbox tab, then select the Evolve Patient Summary button to open the summary.
When clicked, the Evolve Patient Summary window will load with information from the patient record.
To close the Evolve Patient Summary, click the Close button at the bottom right of the window or the X icon at the top right.
Recent Investigations in Patient Summary
- Summarised list of any Requests and Results since the last recorded consultation.
- Shortcut links provided for deeper review in the full record.
Recent Correspondence in Patient Summary
- Correspondence In: Inbound documents received since the last consultation.
- Correspondence Out: Outbound communications since the last consultation.
- Shortcut links included.
Last 3 Consultations in Patient Summary

AI-generated summaries of the last three consultations to give you a high-level overview before seeing the patient.
Active & Inactive Patient Behaviour in Patient Summary
Evolve Patient Summary can be used on both active and inactive patient records. The Patient Summary icon is disabled if the patient record has been deleted, as the information is no longer available.
Similarly, the Patient Summary icon is disabled if there is no patient attached - this can happen when using Dynamic Letter Sharing to share patient records between MediRecords practices.
By clicking into the shortcut links embedded in the headers of specific sections within the Evolve Patient Summary, you’ll be taken directly to the relevant section of the full patient record.

The Evolve Patient Summary is generated based on the available patient data within the system and is designed to provide a quick, informative overview to support healthcare decision-making.
