MediRecords offers the Drug Recipes function, so you may create any drug product you need for the purposes of prescribing. This is sometimes necessary if the medication is not provided by the PBS and does not have a TGA ID etc, or if your practice prescribes compounded medicines. Occasionally however, you may need have a large list of products to import, in which case creating a Drug Recipe may not be the most efficient option for loading them into your tenancy.
MediRecords offers paid import services for medications. We can provide you with a spreadsheet list of the fields of information we need per medication. When you return the same spreadsheet to us with your medication information added, we can then import these medications into your tenancy, so you may prescribe them as Drug Recipes.
When importing your Drug Recipes, you can include:
- Multiple ingredients in a single Recipe. You will need to include at least one ingredient in the recipe, but may include up to 6 ingredients in a single Recipe. Each ingredient can have its own strength and unit of measurement.
- An indication of whether the medication is a monitored medicine or part of the Schedule 8 list of medicines. This ensures that during prescribing, providers are prompted to enter any information required for the Schedule 8 prescription to be finalised, such as an interval between repeats.
- A note onto your Recipe that can be read by your practice staff, in case you want to leave a miscellaneous note about how and when the Recipe should be used etc.
- A sharing option, to control whether only you should be able to see and use a particular Recipe, or whether everyone in the practice should be able to prescribe your recipe.
