Sometimes patients may notice that the appointment time in their SMS confirmation doesn’t match the time they originally booked. This usually happens when the appointment is made through the online booking widget, and it comes down to how time zones are handled.
If a patient has set their time zone in the MediRecords Mobile App, then their appointment confirmations will always be sent in their local time. However, if they haven’t signed up for the app, their time zone isn’t available in MediRecords. In those cases, the SMS confirmation will show the provider’s time zone instead. And if the provider’s time zone hasn’t been set, the system will default to AEST (Australian Eastern Standard Time).
For the most accurate experience, we strongly recommend that patients download and sign up to the MediRecords Mobile App. Not only does this ensure appointment confirmations reflect their correct local time, but it also gives them convenient access to their medications, upcoming appointments, and medical records, all in one place.
