The Online Veteran Verification (OVV) process in MediRecords is designed to ensure that claims for Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) patients are submitted without errors or delays. By verifying patient details directly against the Medicare DVA database, practices can confirm that the information stored in MediRecords matches the patient’s official record before a claim is lodged.
Because MediRecords no longer automatically detects DVA details during a standard OPV (Online Patient Verification) check, it is now essential to manually verify each patient’s DVA card. Completing this quick step reduces the risk of rejected claims, saves time in reprocessing, and ensures your practice maintains accurate patient records.

What is an OVV?
Submitting an OVV request for each-and-every patient that has a DVA card is very important. By verifying that your patient information matches the patient's identity within the Medicare DVA database ensures that DVA claims will be processed smoothly and without delay.
