Engage allows your practice to send Clinical Actions directly to patients to complete in their own time. This saves valuable staff time, ensures patients are better prepared for their appointments, and reduces the likelihood of no-shows. By managing activities asynchronously, your team can focus more on patient care while still keeping patients engaged and accountable.
From publishing tasks such as forms or appointment prompts, to linking Clinical Actions with upcoming appointments, Engage helps streamline workflows and improve practice efficiency. The result is fewer missed appointments, smoother consultations, and a better experience for both patients and providers.

Publishing a Clinical Action for a Patient to Complete
You can publish a Clinical Action to Engage at any point using the Publish to Engage tick-box. You can also specify whether the patient needs to book an appointment to complete the Clinical Action, or whether they need to undertake another activity.
- Open the Clinical Action form. Information on creating a Clinical Action is available here if you're unfamiliar.
- Fill in the fields
- Tick the Publish to Engage tick-box
- If you need the patient to book an appointment, tick the Prompt patient to book an appointment box.
- Finish adding any information you need
- Click Save
The Clinical Action will then be created within Care, and the patient will receive a To Do in Engage.
Linking a Clinical Action to an Appointment
If the patient books an appointment from the To Do in Engage, this will automatically link their To Do to the appointment they book. Once the appointment is moved to a Completed Status, the Clinical Action will automatically be marked as Completed also.
If the patient were to cancel the appointment or for another reason the appointment was not held, the Clinical Action will remain in Open Status until the appointment is completed.
If the patient contacts the practice directly to make an appointment, you can manually link the Clinical Action to their appointment, so that it'll be completed alongside the appointment.
To do this, open the Appointment, and select the relevant Clinical Action from the Clinical Actions drop-down menu.
