Inviting patients to Engage means you no longer need to spend time printing, posting or repeatedly calling to share results and documents. With just a few clicks you can make information available instantly, saving both staff and patients valuable time.
By giving patients direct access to their records, you reduce administrative overhead and paper waste while ensuring they always have the details they need at hand. This makes follow-up conversations more productive, supports better continuity of care, and creates a smoother experience for both providers and patients.

Inviting a Patient
- Within a patient record, click the Engage Invite button.
- Confirm with the patient that their date of birth, email address, mobile phone number are correct. These will be required for verification when the patient creates an account.
- If you need to make any changes, click Edit Details, adjust the information, and click Save and Invite.
- If no changes are required, click Invite.
- The patient will then be sent an email invitation to Engage, and their Engage Account Status will change to Pending.
Invitation States
There are 3 states in creating a patient's Account in Engage that affect the appearance of the Engage Invite button. These visual indicators show whether the patient has successfully created an account for Engage or not.
| State | Visual Indicator | Meaning | Image |
| Engage Invite | Standard button | Patient has not been invited to Engage | |
| Engage Pending | Yellow clock icon | Invitation sent but patient has not created an account via the email invitation | |
| Engage Joined | Green chain/link icon | Patient has successfully created an Engage account, and it is linked to their patient record |
Once a patient has successfully created an Engage account, all of their publishable records will begin syncing to Engage automatically.
