Adding a patient’s family medical history in MediRecords helps build a more complete clinical profile, supporting better diagnosis, treatment, and preventive care. Recording the health conditions of close relatives provides valuable context for assessing hereditary risks and planning patient care more effectively.
In this article, you will learn how to add, update, and save family history details within a patient record. By capturing relationships and relevant conditions, you can ensure the patient’s record reflects not only their own health but also important background information that may influence their care.
- Open the Patient Record.
- Click on the Details tab.
- Click on Family History.
- Make sure the No Significant Family History tick-box is not ticked.
- Click on Family History Details section and fill in the relevant fields. At a minimum, the Relationship and Disease fields must be filled in. Once finished, click Add.
- Click Save to apply the changes.
The relatives' medical history has now been added to the patient record.
