If you're encountering issues validating an IHI number, one possible reason could be a mismatch between the patient's gender as recorded in MediRecords and the gender information stored by Medicare or HI Services.

How to Resolve this Errors:

1. Check Patient Demographics:

   • Review the patient's gender information in MediRecords.
   • Ensure it aligns with the gender recorded on their IHI records.
     
     

2. Verify with the Patient:

   • If there's a discrepancy, confirm the patient's correct gender.
   • Update the MediRecords accordingly.
   • Go to the Demographics section, check the Gender field, and update it to the correct gender.
   • Attempt to validate the IHI again.

3. Contact Healthcare Identifiers Service:

   • For further assistance or to verify the patient's details, Patients can call the Healthcare Identifiers Service on 1300 361 457 Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 5 pm AEST to check their details against what they have provided the Practice.
