Status Updates in MediRecords provide a quick and simple way for staff to communicate their current availability or activities with colleagues. When a user posts a status update, it becomes visible in key areas such as the Waiting Room and Appointment Calendar, helping to keep the team informed in real time. This ensures greater transparency across the clinic, reduces interruptions, and keeps everyone aligned with what providers are doing at any given moment.
This feature is particularly useful during busy clinic hours, as it allows staff to signal when they are in consultation, unavailable, or temporarily away. By keeping these updates visible to others, clinics can coordinate more effectively and deliver a smoother experience for both patients and staff. Removing or updating a status is just as easy, ensuring that the information displayed remains accurate and up to date.

Viewing a Status Update in the Waiting Room
- Click Waiting Room (the third tab on the MediRecords application ribbon)
- Navigate to the name of the user that is consulting a patient (in the "With Doctor" column)
- If the user has posted a status update, the status update will be displayed next to their name
- You will only be able to see a users status update in the waiting room when they are in consultation with a patient
Posting a Status Update
- Click the User Icon (the human icon - the last tab on the MediRecords application ribbon)
- The User Profile Menu will appear in a drop-down list below
- Click the Text-box below the "Status" heading
- Type in a short status update, and click Post
- Your status has been now updated and will be posted to the appointments page and the waiting room
Removing a Status Update
- Click the Person Icon
- The User Profile Menu will appear in a drop-down list below
- The current status will be below the "My Status" heading
- Click Clear to remove the status update
- Your status has now been removed and will no longer be visible on the appointments page or the waiting room
