Sharing important documents with patients electronically helps to reduce the need for printing and ensures information is available to them quickly and securely. With Engage, you can publish documents such as medical certificates, care plans, patient education material, or any other type of outgoing correspondence directly to the patient’s account.
This approach not only saves time and resources but also supports continuity of care by making sure patients have access to the documents they need whenever they require them. By finalising and publishing correspondence to Engage, you can streamline your processes while keeping patients informed and supported.

Correspondence Publication Methods
There are multiple methods for publishing your Correspondence Out records to Engage for your patients.
When creating a letter, it will be published to Engage automatically when the following occurs:
- The patient has activated their account for Engage
- The Correspondence Out letter is put in Final Status
- The letter is not marked as confidential
- Publish to Engage is ticked within the letter
Finalising a Letter
A letter will be published to Engage automatically once it has been marked as Final, if it meets the publication criteria outlined above.
- Open the patient's record
- Create the Correspondence Out Letter
- Upon marking the letter as Final, the record will be published provided the patient's account for Engage is activated and the letter is not confidential.
- The publication information can be viewed in the information icon beside the record in the Correspondence Out grid.
Correspondence Out Grid
A letter can be published at any time from the Correspondence Out grid if it meets the criteria for publication and hasn't already been published. This is helpful if you didn't want to publish the letter originally, but would like to do so now.
- Open the patient's record
- Open the Clinical tab, and then open Correspondence
- Swap to the Out tab
- Tick the box beside the Correspondence Record you'd like to Publish
- Open the More menu
- Click Publish to Engage
- The publication information can be viewed in the information icon beside the record in the Correspondence Out grid.
Avoiding Publication
If you would like to avoid publishing a particular letter, you have a couple of options.
- When creating the letter, untick Publish to Engage. This will prevent publication, but still allows you to publish the letter at a later point if you wish..
- You can mark the letter as confidential. This will hide the record from the patient within Engage, but it will also hide the content of the letter from other providers in your practice.
