When patients can see clear instructions for their medicines at any time in Engage, it means fewer phone calls to your practice asking how or when to take them. Instead of relying on memory or chasing paper printouts, patients can check their prescribed dose, frequency and special instructions whenever they need to.
Engage also stores electronic prescription tokens, so patients never need to call reception to ask where their token is or search through old emails and text messages. Everything is in one place, reducing your administrative workload while giving patients the confidence to manage their medicines safely and independently.

Publication Rules for Medications
Medication records are published automatically on saving the prescription, provided they are in the required status and not marked as confidential.
If a patient is registered for an Engage account, then medications will be published to Engage provided they meet this criteria:
Status - must be Printed or Ceased
Confidential - not flagged as Confidential
Removing a Medication from Engage
If a medication has been published by mistake, then you may mark the medication as Confidential to remove it from Engage.
Note: this will also hide the medication's content from other providers in your practice.
- Click onto the Medication Name
- Click Next
- Tick the Confidential box
- Click Next
- Click Prescribe then Save
The medication will then be marked as confidential, and hidden from the patient in Engage.
Patient's View of Medications
Patients can view several fields of information about a Medication from within Engage. If the prescription were electronic, then they may also access their eScript token for the initial prescription through Engage.
If you'd like to see the patient's view from within Engage, please refer to this patient-facing article that you may share with your patients: Engage: Viewing your Medications.
