The appointment waitlist in MediRecords helps practices manage patient demand by keeping track of those who are waiting for an earlier slot to become available. Instead of manually managing phone calls and notes, the waitlist provides a simple way to add patients, review who is waiting, and quickly fill cancellations or newly opened appointment times.
Patients can only be added to the waitlist from an existing appointment in the calendar, which means every person on the list is already scheduled and simply waiting for a chance to be seen sooner. Once added, you can easily link them to an available slot, or remove them from the waitlist if no longer required.
This article will guide you through how to open the waitlist, add patients, link appointments, and manage or remove wait-listed patients.

Opening the Wait List
To access the waitlist, create or open an appointment and click Wait List.
Every appointment added to the wait list will be visible here.
Adding a Patient to the Wait List
To add a patient to the Wait List, first create or open an appointment and click the Tick-Box next to Join Wait-list and Save.
The patient has now been added to the Wait List.
Linking an Existing Appointment to a Patient on the Wait List
Open the existing appointment
Click Wait List
Select the Patient wait-listed
Click Save.
This will override the original appointment and save the existing appointment and also remove the patient from the Wait List.
Note: You can also change the date and time of appointment from within the Wait List and the new changes will override the existing appointment and will be saved.
Removing a Patient from the Wait List
Open the patient's appointment
Deselect the Tick-Box next to Join Wait-List
Click Save
The patient has been removed from the Wait List.
