Medicare Error: 9645 - Same Day Delete Unavailable, Claim Already Processed

What does this error mean?

This error appears when attempting a Same Day Delete on a Medicare claim that has already been accepted and processed, or paid, by Medicare. Same Day Delete can only be used before Medicare processes the claim on the day it was submitted. Once processing has occurred, the claim can no longer be deleted this way.

How do I resolve this error?

If the claim has already been processed, for example if the invoice amount was incorrect, the correction needs to be made directly through Medicare rather than by deleting the claim in MediRecords. If you suspect the claim is a duplicate, Medicare will automatically reject it, and you can accept that rejection within MediRecords. For further assistance, contact Medicare on 1800 700 199.
