An "access denied" message means your user account doesn't currently have the security privileges needed to view or use that part of MediRecords. This is controlled by your practice's security role settings, not a fault, and is managed by your Practice Owner. This article covers the most common causes of access denied errors and how to get them resolved.

Why Access Denied Happens
Every user in MediRecords is assigned a Security Role, which determines which areas of the application they can access, and what they can do within them. If a user tries to open a section they don't have a privilege for, they'll see an access denied message.
Security roles and privileges are configured by the Practice Owner, or another user with the appropriate access to manage security roles. See Security Role Configuration for full detail on privileges and how to read them.
Common Examples
"I can't see Reporting on my account"
This usually means the Reporting privilege isn't enabled for that user's security role. The Practice Owner will need to check the relevant security role and ensure "Hide Reporting" isn't selected.
Getting It Resolved
- Speak to your Practice Owner, or whoever manages security roles at your practice.
- They can check the relevant security role and privilege in MediRecords, and update it if appropriate. See Security Role Configuration for the steps to view and change a security role's access.
