Dorsum integrates with MediRecords to help clinicians capture consultation content, generate documentation, and save the outputs straight back to the patient record, reducing manual note-taking and letter writing after each consultation.
This guide walks you through enabling the Dorsum integration, opening Dorsum from a patient’s clinical record, recording and finalising a consultation, and checking what syncs back to MediRecords.

Before You Begin
Make sure the following are in place before you set up Dorsum:
- An active Dorsum account for each user using the tool.
- Access to MediRecords Care.
- Your organisation has access to the Dorsum marketplace integration in MediRecords Care.
- Clinicians can log in to Dorsum at https://app.dorsum.ai/login.
📌 Important: The email address each user uses for Dorsum must match the email address they use to log in to MediRecords Care. If they don’t match, Dorsum will show a “Your accounts don’t match” error (see Troubleshooting).
Step 1: Enable Dorsum in MediRecords Care
Enable Dorsum as a partner integration to make it available in MediRecords.
- In MediRecords Care, navigate to More, then Settings, and then open Partner Products.
- Find Dorsum in the marketplace partner list.
- Toggle the integration On.
ℹ️ Note: The Dorsum integration is switched off by default. It must be switched on before the Dorsum button appears in the patient record.
Step 2: Open Dorsum from a Patient Record
Once enabled, Dorsum can be launched directly from a patient’s clinical record.
- Navigate to Patients and open the patient’s record.
- Click the Clinical tab.
- Locate the Dorsum icon in the toolbar.
4. Click the Dorsum icon to open the Dorsum window.
- If you are not logged in to Dorsum, enter your Dorsum credentials when prompted. Once you sign in, MediRecords is connected and you can access the patient in Dorsum.
- If you are already logged in to Dorsum, the patient opens in Dorsum automatically.
Step 3: Record and Finalise a Consultation
Capture the consultation in Dorsum, generate the documentation, and save it back into MediRecords.
- From within the Dorsum consultation, click Record.
- After recording, click Generate.
3. Review the generated automations and outputs.
4. Click Finalise Consultation.
ℹ️ Note: The Finalise Consultation window shows which documents will be saved to MediRecords (for example, the consultation notes and a Letter to GP). Review these before you confirm.
What happens next:
- Dorsum uploads and stores the information back into MediRecords.
- Dorsum shows the status of each uploaded consultation, so you can confirm it has been saved back into MediRecords.
What Syncs Back to MediRecords
After the consultation is finalised, Dorsum saves its outputs to the relevant areas of the patient record in MediRecords.
| Output | Saved location in MediRecords | Notes |
| Consultation notes | Today’s Notes section | Generated consultation notes are written back to the patient’s notes. |
| Letters and correspondence | Correspondence section | Generated letters are stored under the patient’s correspondence record. |
ℹ️ Note: Letter generation may vary by account type. For example, specialist configurations may generate a Letter to GP, while standard GP configurations may not produce that document.

I see the error “Your accounts don’t match” when logging in
You may see messages such as “Sign in with the Dorsum account you connected to MediRecords” or “Your Dorsum account is connected to a different MediRecords doctor.”
Cause: The email address used in MediRecords Care and the email address used in Dorsum do not match.
Resolution: Check which Dorsum account you are signed in to. If the email addresses differ, contact Dorsum Support and ask them to update your Dorsum email address to match the email address you use to log in to MediRecords Care.
