Introduction
This article explains how MediRecords handles deceased patient records and what changes once a Date of Death (DoD) is recorded. You’ll learn which clinical functions are disabled to preserve record integrity, which limited actions remain available (such as adding Amendments, creating Correspondence Out, and claiming for up to two years from the date of service), and how to mark a patient as deceased.
Important: Once a DoD is saved, it cannot be removed. To avoid disrupting active workflows, complete all required clinical documentation before entering the DoD on the patient’s profile.
